1. What was the most sick that you've ever been?
I cannot remember them all, but I was like 17/18 in high school when I caught something bad. High fever, dazed, bedridden. I recall another time when I had a really bad bug where I had to crawl to the bathroom because I was so sick. Back in 2022 I had gotten my first dose of the Covid shot and was vomiting for like 7-10 days straight. I went to urgent care and they gave me Zofran and told me to wait it out. It was brutal. Worst I’ve ever been was when I had Covid the first time back in December 2021. I was bedridden for 3 weeks and the virus led to my POTS being triggered and chronic fatigue with hypersomnia.
2. What disease are you afraid of getting?
Dementia, cancer, anything fatal or that would incapacitate me.
3. Are you a big baby when it comes to taking medicine/shots for your illnesses?
I used to be, but now it’s nothing. As my health has gotten worse over the years I’ve had to get used to lots of meds and being poked and prodded.
4. Is going to the doctor really THAT bad?
No, I love my Primary Care Doc and my mental health team. My Cardiologist is awesome too and so are his NPs. And my Neurologist’s NP is lovely.
5. Would you have the flu twice a month if you were paid $1,000 for having it?
Fuck, no!
This isn’t easy to write, but I’m at a place where I need to ask for help.
Since experiencing a three-week gap in pay between jobs, I’ve been living paycheck to paycheck—constantly trying to catch up, but never quite getting there. Right now, my bank account is sitting at a negative balance of -$332.38, and the stress is honestly overwhelming.
I’m receiving my final paycheck this Friday, but half of it is already committed to paying off a payday advance loan. Another portion is going toward my furniture payment—leaving me with very little to cover my basic needs or dig myself out of the negative.
I’m doing everything I can: job hunting daily, applying for unemployment, SNAP, and Medicaid, and even looking for freelance writing opportunities to try and supplement my income. Still, the reality is that I need support to make it through this rough patch.
If anyone is in a position to help in any way—financially, by sharing resources, or simply with kind words—it would mean more than I can put into words. Every little bit helps and is deeply appreciated.
Thank you for reading and for being in my corner.

{} Terrace Apartments calculated my rent to be $689 a month, but I don’t have to pay utilities and if I get a job with less pay then my rent will be adjusted accordingly. I don’t have $1,378 (1st month’s rent and deposit. Plus about $600 more for moving fees) in any way, shape, or form. I’d have to sell my car in order to get that and I need my car. I contacted a community agency, but had to leave a message. Hopefully they can help me, but I’m not certain. If I don’t get in there it’s back into my abusive mother’s home and control.
I am in a time crunch and that brings me here…

Cassie’s 2024 Wishlist
This year has been rough and I’m hoping next year will be better!
Money: After all my bills are paid I have a whopping $38 and some change left over per month. Rent is $700 with car note $170 and car insurance $70. Electricity is $50-100 depending on usage. Living the paycheck to paycheck life is exhausting and scary. I’m always scraping the barrel to afford gas, car maintenance/repairs (my car has so many things wrong right now but I simply cannot afford to fix it. Pray everyday I can get to work and back), laundry, and groceries. It’s just me and my only options are to live with my aging and perpetually abusive mother or just skirt by in my own place- I think you can understand why I choose to “just skirt by.” I’m due to graduate with my Associate’s degree at the end of this year and, if my health cooperates, am planning on getting a better paying job with it. In the meantime, I primarily (part-time) work as a nanny and recently signed up to do DoorDash and Instacart. I also have been applying to virtual tutor jobs as well. But alas money doesn’t grow on trees. Anything a kind soul can spare will go towards keeping me and my three kitties cared for. ALSO! I owe approximately $800 (miscounted previously, oy) in medical debt; I owe my local hospital system and the medical supply company for my BiPAP. I pay both companies $20-25 a month because it’s all I can afford, but would love to make a big dent in both. The hospital has already turned a portion of my debt into collections as of this writing.I have PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App. Addresses under a cut below.
Gluten and sugar free recipes that are simple and cheap: I had to go gluten and sugar free this year due to health issues. I have a crockpot and air fryer. I’m already getting tired of eating the same things all the time. Need some new recipes.
Amazon Wishlist: There’s a couple “for fun” things on here, but it’s primarily home essentials. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/YLT6QJM5TBKB?ref_=wl_share
Good wishes for my health, finances, and getting into income based housing. I was denied due to my credit history and now am appealing. This year has been one for the books, I’m telling ya.

Hello
I’m financially in a pickle. I’m in the process of filing bankruptcy and filling out an app to borrow on my life insurance. I decided to file bankruptcy last fall with the hopes of using a lawyer. He told me to stop paying on all my credit cards and personal loans. I did so. This has wrecked my credit since and so I haven’t been able to take out any more loans (the lawyer needed $1.5k to file my case) and I’ve been struggling financially since then. I’ve been living paycheck to paycheck since last fall and I’m now in a cycle of my account getting overdrawn and the bank putting a freeze on it and my bills not getting paid. My life insurance loan will probably not come through for about 6 or so weeks AFTER I apply and it’ll take 7-10 days after I mail the app to hear anything- but I need money now.
Currently, my phone is shut off. Cannot make calls or receive texts. I have an iPhone and so I can FaceTime and iMessage over wifi, but that’s it. I need $51 to get it turned back on.
I get paid this week, but a good chuck will go towards a payday loan I was able to get to pay late rent. My car payment is almost 30 days late, but I got an extension until this Friday. My car payment will be $167 plus $30 late fee. I’m afraid rent will be late again; that’s $525 plus $4 service charge for digital payment.
The 3 things I currently need money for:
Phone: $51
Car payment: $197
Rent: $525
Total: $773

Hi all. My name is Cassie and I’m 32. Back in April of this year, I acquired my own apartment and moved out on my own for the first time. I did this to escape my abusive homelife with my mother. My job, which runs from August-May, got a grant and paid me to work into the month of June (it turned into all summer due to circumstances beyond my control). I had enough money at the time to survive the summer- but now I’m struggling. My paychecks won’t kick back in for another couple of weeks and they will not be full-time hours (yet) and so I need a little assistance. My bank account is currently showing I have $1,444.26 in it and I pay, roughly, about $1,500-2k a month in bills. All my major bills will start deducting from my account around the 20th and I fear I won’t have the funds to fulfill them all. Below are services I’m offering in exchange for donations:
Beta/Alpha reader or Proofreader: I’ve been writing for 15 years. I have the ability to read up to 10k words, but will need time to do so.
Tarot readings: I have a couple different spreads I can do that typically suits everyone.
Ghostwriting: Send me a PM and we will discuss.
Lastly, suggestions for freelance writing gigs. I will continue to need a little extra income in addition to my daytime job. Legitimate suggestions that don’t require money to sign up, please.

Hello all! I’m Cassie, almost 32, and trying to become independent. I’m currently trying to move out on my own so I can establish myself outside of my overbearing/overprotective/micromanaging/helicopter mother.
The apartment that I’m in line for requires the first month’s rent and a deposit; both are $525. I don’t have the means to afford the whole amount right now due to paying off some debts last month. I’m humbly asking for assistance.
I need $1,050 to be able to secure the apartment.
My PayPal is c6290 at hotmail dot com- don’t forget to send via Friends and Family to avoid fees! If you cannot contribute, for whatever reason, please share this. Thank you. <3

=================================
After losing my SSI case, I was forced back into the working world. I was lucky enough to land a part-time job working for a department store. I’m working at most 3 days a week and making $8.50 an hour; on average, I’m bringing in about $500 a month or less. I’m blessed enough to still live at home and with a mother who doesn’t charge me rent, however, I do have a credit card and other expenses I pay. Saving up for a car on my pay alone is very impractical and would take possibly a year or more.
I’m in desperate need of my own car so I can get my driver’s license and keep open availability at work. Having my own car would also grant me independence and freedom that I don’t currently have. I’m 27-years-old and am trying to get my life together after having depression and anxiety rule me for so long.
It’s going to be cheaper and more practical to buy a used car from an owner instead of a dealership. I’m doing this to raise money for the car to do one of two things. I will either pay upfront for the car or take out a loan and use the funds raised here to pay it off. My goal is $4,000, but I’d ideally absolutely need $3,000; any money left over will go towards getting all the necessaries for the car (plates, tags, etc) and what’s left after that will go towards a professional cleaning and detailing. I’ve seen lots of nice cars within my year range and price point. We’ll have our mechanic take a look at the car before I buy, of course. I really need the car so I can practice and take my license test ASAP.
Any help, big or small, would be deeply and greatly appreciated. Thank you.
